Grinding noise on my tractor

Hey, let's see if someone can help me here. I have a John Deere L118 lawn tractor. I just recently replaced the spindles and belt, but when I engage the blades, there's a horrendous grinding noise. Anyone know what it might be??
The noise comes from the deck
