Hello I have about 4 years of experience in logistics. I started in packing/shipping moved on to become a team leader and now I am slowly transitioning into becoming an inventory planner. I can't say this is a field I am passionate about, but I can't say I hate it either. There's positivity in knowing that I am part of a field that is considered a backbone to a growing company. However, the positivity isn't enough to overshadow the tedium that comes with the job. There are times when I feel like I am just a cog in the machine. I started working full-time in logistics right after dropping out of college. I wasnāt performing well in school (probably because I was not passionate enough about my classes or future at the time), so I planned to take a year off and work full-time while also figuring some things out. As the years go by while also gaining raises and role changes, returning to school becomes less of a priority. However, this just resulted in pigeonholing myself into a potential career in the supply chain. Iām not too concerned about this. Iāve concluded that I will not be going back to school unless it is 100% need it to achieve the desired career. But if I am to continue working in logistics, I want to know if this field can be found in something that I am interested in, TV/film production. Admittedly, I have never worked on any form of media, but I have dedicated many hours watching films. I am especially interested in the behind-the-scenes and production history of a film project. Because I have zero experience, I canāt confidently say this would be a career path that is a right fit for me. But I think there are similarities in working in logistics and working behind the scenes of a media project. Alternativity, I am curious to know if their logistics type careers in art projects in general. I spent a weekend in NYC, and I visited a place Artechouse. Their mission is to āprovide the most advanced exhibition platforms so that pioneering new media artists can create and show their work without limitationsā. The exhibit I witnessed at the time was incredible and it made me wonder about the logistics of creating it. I admire Artehouseās mission, and it made me consider how great it could be to support artists in accomplishing their projects in any way possible. Iāve never created any form of art, but I am interested in awakening some type of creativity in me. I think being the supported for art with my experience in logistics can help me realize that. If anyone can help point me on the right path to what I am thinking about, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
