I rewatched the 1991 WWF PPV Tuesday In Texas this morning….it’s much wilder than I remember!

If you have a free 90 minutes or so this weekend, I thoroughly recommend you give it a go. Highlights include:

Gorilla Monsoon REALLY being critical of Skinner and Warlord’s work. Listen as he points out how rubbish Skinner’s abdominal stretch is, and how Warlord’s crap Full Nelson is a waste of time.

Some full on craziness with Jake and Savage, with Elizabeth taking a bump and 2 of the most emotional promos I’ve ever seen from those guys.

Harvey Whippleman jumping the top rope and landing perfectly on his feet on the floor Randy Savage style.

Mean Gene, Paul Bearer and The Undertaker trailblazing the “looking down in to camera” shot almost a full year before Tarantino.

The wild ass ending to the main event, with everyone not named Terry (including Jack “On the Take” Tunney) taking bumps.

All this and more, and seriously, there’s more Hall of Fame talent on show in this 90 minutes than is sensible, like every match. Bret, Jake and Randy, Ted Dibiase, Tito Santana, Bulldog, Flair, Taker, Hogan, Paul Bearer, Tunney, Monsoon and Heenan, Mean Gene….damn it’s a great show!
