Now that Passover and Eurovision are over, the next major event on my calendar is Pride… but the more I see of the rampant, gleeful Jew hate in the queer community, the more I feel like it’s not worth going to general Pride this year. It’s something of a relief not to have to guess who’s an antisemite but, dear L_rd, there are a lot of them.
Anyway, I’ve been floating the idea with friends of having some sort of small Jewish Pride. Probably some combination of online/hybrid/small in-person events. Challah baking class. Maybe a drag show. Room to commiserate and also share joy.
If you have ideas/want to join in/are looking for queer Jewish community in general, come on and drop me a DM.
