Help explaining why stereotypes are negative?

Can someone assist me in explaining why “Jews/Zionists control the music industry” is an offensive stereotype?
A friend just shared a cartoon of a Jewish man with a large Magen David puppeteering a (Black) man with a caption about how you look signing with a record label because all of the execs are Zionists.
The friend double downed when I messaged that it’s offensive and said I should take it as a compliment.
Can someone help me put into words the issue with this?
