I have a 3.8L, 2010 JK Unlimited with 63,000 miles. I replaced the alternator on it about a month and a half ago. Two days ago, I replaced my headlights (changed to True Mods 7ā from Amazon). I wired everything correctly and installed the wiring/fuses it came with (two 15amp) into the M7 slot (power outlet/accessory select).
Last night, I went out to start the jeep and as soon as I cranked it (didnāt start), the lights came on, then the entire vehicle shut off (as if the vehicle had no power. I assumed it was the battery so I tried jumping it, but it didnāt come on. It stayed off until I messed with the terminals (I removed the old ones, changed them out since they were eyelet style and corroded), and placed them back on and to my surprise, it had power. I started the car and thought that was the end of my problems. I drove my jeep up my driveway and as soon as I reached the end of it, all of the dash lights started coming on and off, and the cabin lights started surging. I turned on the headlights and as soon as I did, the car completely died.
I removed the 20 amp fuse that I removed from the M7 slot when I installed the headlights and placed it into the M4 slot thinking that that might have solved the problem. The vehicle drove and ran for a bit, but about 2 minutes into the drive, the dash lights started coming on and off again and the stereo (aftermarket, installed about 3 months ago) turned off. I was able to get it back onto my driveway and as soon as I did, it died and I couldnāt turn it on as if it were completely dead. No crank.
I donāt know what to do. Could it be the headlights?! Iām so lost. Please help!
