My Grand Cherokee has been in the shop for 14 months
Post Body

14 months someone crashed into my vehicle while it was parked on the street. Driver took off and it was a hit and run and was never able to find the guy. Did roughly 18k in damages. The entire vehicle has been put together, only thing missing is the new steering rack. It has been 14 months now and jeep still can’t provide the part for my vehicle. I even just found out a couple days ago that they don’t even have the smaller pieces to even manufacture new steering rack. My insurance provider will not total my vehicle because jeep won’t discontinue this part, that they aren’t even able to produce at the moment. Does any have any advice or even been in a situation like this themselves?

You are absolutely correct, you shouldn’t have to put used parts on. I don’t understand all the downvotes on this.
