how do i find a jazz group to join as a college student?

i am a college student at a small college in upstate new york. i have a desire to join a jazz group and continue playing music (as i did in high school) but we have no such group at my school (yes i already tried starting one and it didnt gain traction). are there any ways i can seek out jazz ensembles or jazz musicians looking for another player? i dont want to play as a career or anything, i just want to play because i enjoy it.
