What is a personal favorite trumpet solo that you want to highlight for people?
Mine is Ted Curson's solo on Charles Mingus' Original Faubus Fables @ 2.52 onward. It never fails to excite me. The rhythm section also absolutely kills it during the solo. There is some sort of magic on that particular performance. Also the whole album Charles Mingus Presents is totally amazing. Check it out if you haven't, might be my favorite from Mingus. Mingus, Dolphy, Curson and Richmond doesn't get much better than that lineup.
