it seems scuds are common for many of you, but i have a lot of trouble finding them. i was in a creek today and did manage to find three by lifting rocks, but they are so hard to spot. i’m worried hiking back with the jar killed them anyway.
i collected some thick underwater moss too; do you think some eggs could be hiding in there? how do you guys find them so often? swishing a net in the water never really gets anything, and sifting gravel and debris is still low return. i don’t really mind, but i’m just wondering if i’m doing anything wrong or could improve. i struggle to find a variety of life in general.
i don’t buy aquatic plants in stores, which i’ve heard is a potential way to get eggs. i’m in north carolina.
