Niche recommendation request - travelling for 10 days half with parents half solo ideas?

Post Body

I have a bit of a niche requirement for my itinerary and because we're all different travellers - I wanted to get a good balance of what I can without doubling up on areas.

I'm going late April and flying in from Korea - first 5 days with parents and the next 5 days solo

I'm really just scratching the surface here so my knowledge isn't good. I wanted to be more confident that I'm on a good track before delving deeper

My style:

  • hiking
  • nature and wildlife
  • adventurous activities
  • cultural experiences (e.g. food)
  • historic architecture / museums

Them:

  • touristy photos of famous or nice looking landmarks
  • relaxation and wellness

I have two ideas at the moment:

  1. Fly into Osaka with parents, spend ~2.5 days in surrounding areas, train to Tokyo and spend ~2.5 days there. Then solo 5 days in possibly in different regional areas before departing in Tokyo (is ~7 days too much for just Tokyo and surrounding areas?)

  2. Fly into Tokyo with parents and spend 5 days in the surrounding areas. Then solo 5 days possibly in Osaka and surrounding areas before departing back in Tokyo

So my main line of thinking is, how to take my parents out to the main places whilst also making the most of my solo 5 days

Thanks!
