Buying a Suica Card year in advance, smart or not?

Post Body

Today I bought a Suica card online at Japan Experience, but I won't need it till next year October. I bought it because I wanted to be sure to have since they've stopped the purchase of them indefinitely.

Since it will have a balance on it (Â¥2000), but won't be using it till October 2024, will my card get blocked or deactivated or will it work when I get there? Or is this a stupid decision on my end and have I wasted my money?

I think it's minus the 500 yen fee if you return it. Therefore the 2000 yen

Regarding the third party, from what I've seen it seemed trustworthy so I took a shot in the dark. If it's an already used Suica Card or it turns out to be fake, it's my own fault.

I don't own an Apple phone, so the virtual card is not an option sadly.
