Post Body

Hey all, I (24) am planning a visit to Japan in June with my sister (15). Currently our plan is to visit Yamagata, Sendai, and Osaka (relatives in those places) as well as Kyoto, Hiroshima, and Tokyo. The trip will be around a week and a half. While both of us understand some amount of conversational Japanese, neither of us are fluent speakers.

Does anyone have any advice for this sort of trip? We should be okay with money (I know credit cards can be an issue, etc) and general travel advice, but this will be my first "solo" experience abroad and considering I will be in charge of my sister I can use all the advice I can get.
