I'm trying to make a 5 day solo hike along the nakasendo trail. I stitched together a bunch of itineraries I could find online, cutting out there rest days (I've done Japan before visiting lots of small mountain towns and this trip I'm more looking for remote nature)
Because I stitched them together and dropped rest days, I'm a little worried I'm underestimating elevation gains.
Day 1: - Start in Kyoto - train to Mitake - hike from Mitake to Hiyoshich
Notes: There's only one ryoken in that town, I'll probably make sure I book that first
Day 2: - Hike from Hiyoshicho to Ena - bus from Ena to Nakatsugawa to spend the night
Day 3: - Hike from Nakatsugawa to Tsumago
Day 4: - Hike from Tsumago to Nojiri
Notes: this seems like it might be the hardest day with an estimated 6 hours of hiking
Day 5: - bus from Nojiri to Yabuhara - hike Yabuhara to Kiso-Hirasawa
My estimate is whole trip should be about 50miles total over 5 days. Would love advice at section that aren't really worth it, any sections I'm missing, and feasibility of whole trip.
