It was a tight vote, but Gentlemen of Gloucestershire won as our choice for January. Thank you to everyone who made suggestions and voted!
Gentlemen of Gloucestershire is a continuation of Northanger Abbey, born during the early days of the pandemic and initially posted in 2021. This blog post has some interesting detail on Wood's process.
The synopsis:
Mrs. Catherine Tilney née Morland began her marriage to the Reverend Henry Tilney with every expectation of happiness. When a crisis emerges and her new family is put in danger, she must become the heroine she has been in training for all her life.
We'll divide the book into three parts, discussing each a week two weeks apart. I did a quick estimate and reading ten chapters should take less than two hours in one sitting, or 20 minutes a day.
The schedule:
Wednesday, January 11: discuss ch 1-10
Wednesday, January 18: discuss ch 11-20
Wednesday, January 25: discuss ch 21-31
UPDATED DATES:
Wednesday, January 25: discuss ch 11-20
Wednesday, February 1: discuss ch 21-31
You can find Gentlemen of Gloucestershire on the author's blog and AO3.
