Essentially what I am saying is I would have liked if Roger Moore stopped with Moonraker. Then after we got Dalton in For Your Eyes Only. I like Roger Moore in FYEO and I think it was nice seeing a more grounded Bond. However I think that seeing Dalton especially in that pre title sequence would have felt more satisfying. Dalton is more of a vengeful Bond. Seeing him drop Blofeld in the chute or kick the car down the cliff would feel more in line with his style. I realize that he was offered the part but for whatever reason it didn't work out. It would have been nice for Dalton to develop more as Bond. Also, for audiences to ween off of Moore and his humor. By the time the Living Daylights came out people were expecting the same quips and humor. I don't think people really warmed up to Dalton until after Daniel Craig started playing a grittier Bond. I think in some other timeline we got Timothy Dalton as the 80s Bond. Moore got too long in the tooth after FYEO. I do enjoy FYEO and Octopussy not so much AVTAK. I know people defend AVTAK and love it. Aside from the song, the pre title sequence, and Christopher Walken it's pretty unremarkable. AVTAK could have used Dalton and it would have improved significantly. It would have been interesting at least to see what Dalton would have done with the 80s Moore movies.
