If Bond actually retired to a quiet kind of life could you see him having a cat or dog?

I mean actually retired not "oh I'm going to put in my resignation. I'll come back to MI6 at some point." Let's say Bond has had enough globe trotting adventures and he's really done. He goes to some remote place out in the country or something. Being a single bachelor he wants some company but doesn't want the complications of a relationship. He decides on getting a pet for companionship. Do you think he would get a cat? A dog? Maybe something else?
