No Q in Live and Let Die?

Hey. I just watched Live and Let Die yesterday.
I noticed that Q(Desmond L.) is not shown? There is only a reference of him when M gave Bond his watch early in the movie. Aside from that, nothing.
Also, Moneypenny and M were only shown on the earlier parts of the movie.
Any explanation why? Thank you!
