There are different types of vows in the Jain philosophy which aim to limit and eventually eliminate the hedonistic traits of an individual. The 14 Niyam lead to limited and conscious consumption, as opposed to the vicious cycle of conspicuous consumption.
Unlike many other vows, these 14 vows are very accommodating and convenient to practise, and can be tailored to suit each individual's requirements which may change from day to day.
This will be the first time members from r/Jainism will be getting together to explore the Jain Dharma further, so we're stoked! Join us as we attempt to explore this topic on Saturday, the 25th of July, from 9.45 PM to 11 PM IST on Google Meet.
