A lot of Jains today have openly started praising the virtues of people in wrong faiths and sects, under the guise of "anumodna" or appreciation of their virtues.
To quote Upadhyayji Maharaja in his Amrutvel Ni Sajjay: "Anya ma pan dayadik je guno, jeh Jinvachan anusaar re..." (The virtues which are in accordance with Jinagya like compassion etc. that are present in people of other faiths are also worthy of anumodna.)
Now, anumodna is to appreciate these virtues within your heart. Most people confuse this with praising or lauding such virtues or people having such virtues. Prashansa is to praise these virtues in front of others. There is a thin line between both.
One must, in their hearts, do anumodna of the good traits (acc. to Jinagya) of all people – irrespective of whether they bear the true faith or not. But you can only publicly praise such virtues if the concerned person is on the right path! If you MUST praise people who are Mithyadrishti due to some reason, be wise enough to also list their wrong qualities, because, if someone listens to your praise for such people and chooses to emulate them, the onus of this person's downfall is yours.
Remember the scriptures: praising Mithyadrishti beings and keeping contact with them are two of the 5 atichars of Samyaktva.
Likewise, there is also a difference between criticising someone and exposing someone for the benefit of the community at large.
