Hi all, just adopted this guy from a closing office, and am diving into jade plant care to make sure it gets a good long life. It used to get direct light all day but is getting by on a grow lamp / indirect now. It seems like it's never been pruned; it's got a lot of thin branches that twist almost 180° to face the sun.
The Plan: It seems that it is 2-3 distinct stalks so I'm planning on separating them into different pots, and taking some skinny branches to be potted independently. Im worried about root shock and over pruning, and plan on getting more grow lights for better exposure. (economy pls)
Advice: - can I kill it by over pruning? A lot of the branches dive out parallel to the ground, and turn down, then 180 back up for leaves. Can I just hack them off and cultivate the upward growing ones? - should I separate trunks or is that too much on the roots? - any general tips on what to do with a windy jade plant?
