Secret Santa got DW and I earrings as an apology for her JustNo behavior last year
Post Body

Not even joking. I can't even pretend like I am not absolutely in love with these earrings.

This happened last week, and I'm only now getting to talking about it, because I'm really unsure if this little update belongs here, but I wasn't sure where else to talk about this so here it goes.

Last DW went over to my MIL's to wash clothes, like she does every week or two. While there, Mil brings out earrings from a Jewelry store that comes in little cloth bags with the names on them. (I legitimately dont remember the name, the bags are still in DW's car and I plan on apropraiting them for use as dice bags)

She tells me about these wonderful earrings and I'm left more than a little speechless. While out shopping for her own earrings Secret Santa saw 2 sets that she knew would be perfect for me and DW, and bought them both. Hers are hoops with a design on the stud piece that they hang from. Here they are. While mine are a bit more unique (and very much my style!). After she had bought them she had visited DW's grandmother and showed them to her. When GMIL asked why she got me a pair too Secret Santa told her how I had come from a broken home and wasn't ever given gifts like this. She also told GMIL that she's realised that I am as much a part of the family now as DW ever was, and she felt bad that she hadn't treated our relationship properly, or myself when it came to telling who we wanted that we are in fact a couple. She did not, however, mention that DW and I got engaged or had a pagan wedding ceremony (which to me says we are married, but legally we are engaged). Just BEC stuff I suppose. It's not something I can openly complain about until we have legal documentation signed and notarized. But its progress. A lot of progress.

I'll also admit to tearing up over the gifts and the thought behind them, as well at the acceptance of my in-laws.
