I need to know if I'm over reacting here.

My parents took me up this morning to go back home. Dad pounds on the door at 9 am. Orders me into a shower

Then as we are drinking coffee he tells me that every morning at 8:30 am I'm to send him a selfie dressed and showered going forward. Also says I'm to have a daily chore. Relevant is that I'm 38 and currently off on medical leave for anxiety

I go silent and just agree with him for the next half an hour

He also lectures me on healthy eating and such and the importance of healthy eating

Then after a bit of time in the car he asks me what is up and that I've been silent

So when I'm in the car I tell him I'm not happy that I'm 38 and that I would prefer to establish my own routine. I also said I felt his routine was controlling

This is not his first time attempting something like this either. I do not live with them. I'm an only child.

I came home and cried after for an hour.

My father two years ago, a day before my birthday also went through my closets, pulling out stuff I had put away in bags. He dragged it all into the living room, and started asking what we are gonna do about it, offering to help.

He invades my privacy a lot. Mom defends him saying "he's only trying to help"

My mom also while I was at home I was making a peanut butter toast nearly empty large jar. I stuck the knife in to get out PB and it got on the handle. I was going to wipe it off and put it in sink.

"Like a two year old!" She exclaims. I don't ever feel good enough for them
