It's been awhile since I've posted, especially about my in-laws.
To summarize: I'm a trans woman, a lesbian, and married to a wonderful woman.
Last week she was visiting our nieces, and I was at work so I (sadly) couldn't attend. SIL, apparently, thought this was the perfect time to tell DW that she believes that the emotional responsibility of the relationship is almost purely on DW's shoulders and that she is concerned.
I've been stewing on this since I heard this, but DW was quick to defend me, saying that if anything I take more of the emotional burden. Because I cook, clean, grocery shop, and pamper her every bit of time we are together. That I've been there for her through all the BS at her jobs and have been amazingly supportive.
This seemed to mollify SIL, but I'm still pissed about it because this a very big attack on my character and the relationship DW and I share. If it were anyone but DW they may have believed this crap, but thankfully DW has a very shiny spine.
I'm not planning to bring it up or do anything about it, I just needed to vent. Thank you for coming to rant.
