Hi.
Looking for a fantasy jrpg with good modernish 3D rendered graphics (not pixel art or '2.5D'), say late-PS3/PS4 era, but a more classic plot. Specifically the type where the MC (a normal joe/jane, or a character that seems normal but has an unknown past. Not a character that's already a renowned warrior/sage) lives a humble life, and ends up embarking on a series of adventures that start of somewhat personal/small in scale but gradually escalate to saving the kingdom/world/universe/metaverse.
Can't think of a lot of examples with modern graphics (I guess FFXII but Van/Penelo are more like characters along for the ride than characters the main plot revolves around) but plot-wise examples I've played:
- Grandia 1
- Chrono Trigger
- Lufia
- Xenogears
- FF5
- Last Remnant
- Beyond the Beyond
- A lot of Tales games
- Almost every DQ
I've already played most classic games (I'm old enough that they weren't classic when I did...), all Final Fantasy's, DQs, Tales games, Star Oceans, Xeno-'s, Ni-No-Kuni's, want a break from Legend of Heroes games,.. Actually I've played a lot that I'm not thinking to mention. So multiple suggestions welcome :)
I have a PS5 and PC.
Appreciate any suggestions.
