Everywhere online I keep hearing about how awful this game is, and how it's one of the worst games people have played, but I think I'm a bit over halfway now (just entering the wind trial) and I dont think it's that bad? I've played abyss, symphonia, vesperia, and a few hours of berseria (planning on going back to it after beating zesteria) and I dont see what makes this one so much worse compared to the others.
The plot is pretty meandering, but I like the sense of adventure it provides a lot better than vesperias plot, whose whole 3rd act completely made me check out story wise lmao
And I actually really like the cast and party interactions a lot this time around (the japanese voice acting is great and really engaging). A lot of the lore and morality issues seems contrived and inconsistent but that was one of my problems with Abyss as well so I guess I'm just not seeing what makes this game so awful?
Yeah I hate the weird skill system (I havent bothered with it at all whatsoever, hope I wont have to), the world is pretty barren and the cutscene direction is meh but I've still been pleasantly surprised by how much I've been enjoying the game compared to what I've been seeing online about it.
