Jrpgs are by far my favourite genre of games and they're practically all I play nowadays. I've been trying to get my 15 year old sister (Im 18F) into them as well, but she really really struggles with turn based combat. She loves games like Stella Glow, Xenoblade, and Fire Emblem but constantly complains to me about how much she hates and how much she sucks at turn based combat. I finally got her to start Bravely Default, and she loves the story, art, and music, but again, has a really tough time with combat (It took her like 5 tries to get past the first boss, and now she's stuck on the first fight with the thief and Khint).
I really would like to help her, but at a certain point I don't even know how to explain the strategy in noob terms because turn based strategy just comes so naturally to me at this point. Thats why I'd like to ask people for some tips or something that I could tell her. In her words, she just wants to know general tips for turn based games and how to play the game better. Thanks all!
