JRPGs with a childlike sense of wonder and adventure like in Pokemon?

Post Body

It's not the monster-catching aspect that I'm looking for. But rather, how in pokemon you end up visiting all kinds of new places: snowy mountains, the desert, underwater, etc. With every new area I felt the world coming alive along this sense of discovery. And it all feels so innocent. Like sure you have to defeat team whatever, but it's not this big looming evil. There are no political factions, no morally gray characters (or not many), no weird human experiments. It's just this big cozy world you can explore.

I have a DS, 3DS, PSP, switch and one of those Chinese emulators that runs up to PS1.
