Hey everyone,
My friend and I are on the hunt for some new co-op games on PS5. We used to play a lot of Destiny 2, but our interest in it has really dropped off over the past year, especially now that the game feels like it’s run its course.
We’ve tried a variety of shooters, and while we still enjoy some of them, we’re looking for something fresh:
- Apex Legends: We played it for a while, but I’ve gotten out-skilled and can’t keep up anymore.
- Battlefield 1: We still jump on this occasionally.
- Helldivers: A game we still enjoy when the mood strikes.
- Sea of Thieves: We tried it, but it got old pretty quick for us.
- The Division 2: My friend convinced me to get this one. It’s solid, but I wish it was a bit more challenging or involved.
Ideally, we’re looking for two-player-friendly co-op games, but we do have a couple of other friends who join us from time to time, so a full party option would be great too. My friend is a bit finicky with what they like, leans towards shooter, so finding something we both enjoy can be tricky. We’re open to different genres, so any suggestions would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance for the recommendations!
What's funny is, I played Diablo 1 as a kid. Skipped 2. Then played 3. So the Remastered will be perfect too.
How could I forget about Diablo?
I played Diablo 3 for like 7 years or something hahahaha I just didn't hear positive things about 4, coupled with all the terrible stories about Blizzard/Activision and I put that out of mind.
Maybe if it's in an insane sale.
I played that years ago!
But I will be jumping back on when they release the new DLC.
I think that's what it was. The first game also didn't have nearly as many healing options.
I did play through both Remnant games with a different friend. We agreed the first one was better. Something about it felt more difficult and just more compelling. Could be that it was a brand new experience.
They recently finished Game of Thrones, which is shocking since they always veered towards sci-fi and shooting.
I might actually have a way to convince them about Baldurs Gate.
Oh we did play a good amount of Monster Hunter World! I really liked it, but then my PS4 got corrupted and I lost a ton of progress and just could not bring myself to re-grind for my stuff.
I am hyped for the new one though!
Elden Ring is a no. They're not into it.
EDF - is stupid mindless and might work out.
Outriders looks like something we can play. Especially if it's cheap.
Thank you for the recs!
Extraction shooters worry me hahaha
I've played through both of them with another friend. Really great games. The first one especially scratched an itch and was so satisfying to play and discover stuff without guides.
Ooo Back 4 Blood might work out. Especially since it's so cheap now.

That sounds like a staggeringly large game.
Do you know if the new player experience is good?
If I missed even a single season of Destiny I felt like I was bombarded with messages and missions without any context lol
