On a relisten I was thinking about something. Chapter 10 in wintersteel when eithan meets shen in the ruins of his home. In their conversation about shen ascending with a dreadgod weapon, eithan says "who is kiren of the hounds, you know as well as I do those like him would have licked your boots the moment you ascended with a dreadgod weapon in your hand" Do you think eithan was just placating shen, or do you think a dreadgod weapon really would have put shen on the map in the Galaxy? Knowing E=O and what O knows about the power struggles up there. Just a thought. What do you think?
