IT: Novel Cut

Post Body

Alright, so I finally finished up my novel edit. The first thing I want to mention is that this was not made in an attempt to "better" or "fix" the movies, I just wanted to do some fun editing. I genuinely liked both films alot- even loved them. I'm also a huge fan of the novel and upon first watch, immediately saw what I could do with the material. This truly was a labor of love dedicated to two films made by some very incredible people. The runtime is 4 hours and 48 minutes. I'll be withholding a few surprises for effect but some changes / additions are as follows:

  • The story is told in a non-linear way, in the vein of the novel.
  • Adrian's death opens the story
  • Deleted scenes restored are: Henry's home life, alternate ending, extended Stan scene with his father, Bill's crap home life, Bill's dad not seeing anything in the basement, quick shot of Beverly drowning in IT2
  • Some fighting between the Losers. I wanted them to be a little less cold to each other in this version.
  • Rescored / added score in a few scenes
  • Gave the first hotel scene an ambiance
  • Cut some dead space
  • Zombie puke for the Leper scene, no Angel of the morning
  • Voiceover work for the (unseen) turtle at the end of the film
  • Some jokes from IT2 have been cut (but not a great deal)
  • Final battle takes place between both adult/story timelines
