I feel like there is travesty on both sides of this and it is horrific what innocent people are facing. One thing I'd like to know better though is that I've heard that the majority of Palestinians support Hamas. Is that true and if so how do the majority of civilians feel about the attack on Isreal? I understand that Isreal shoulders a lot of blame for the radicalization of Palestinians with their treatment but the reports coming out about the Hamas attack are incredibly gruesome and I feel like not having a resounding denouncement of that says something. I know Hamas isn't necessarily something you cancel. Going against them could have it's own dangers but how to you not immediately reject any group that would carry out such atrocities? I know they build schools and hospitals and the like but I could never support or associate with any group that could do such horrible things.
There are also reports that say Hamas purposely hides behind civilian targets. How true is this and if so how do Palestinians feel about being a sheild like that?
I know I can research more myself but it is a bit of a nuanced conversation and I'm not sure how to even start looking into it. Any references or reccomendations to get a better understanding of that dynamic would be appreciated.
