How do Palestinians resist the occupation if not through armed struggle?

I see people in the west criticizing Palestinian resistance groups for act of terrorism, I mean, sure, those acts are condemnable but every resistance movement against occupation ends up committing some form of terrorism in its struggle against the occupation. Hamas and before that, PLO are no exceptions.

But the question is, why is Palestinian right of armed struggle not recognized? What do we want them to do? Live under occupation forever?

Especially when peace initiatives have only enabled Israel to build more settlements in West Bank and more land is stolen with every passing year. What is the option left here?
