I understand that Palestinians are separate from Hamas but…

Are there any Palestinians who can shed light on what it might be like to be living under Hamas rule? I’m wondering how they have maintained control? I can understand that they might use coercion or intimidation but is that your experience as a Palestinian? What do people who don’t agree with Hamas’ approach do in living their lives in somewhere like Gaza?
Not sure how realistic it is to expect this question be answered but looking to expand my understanding.
