Pure fantasy with current geopolitics, but nice muse: Seeing how small the contested Israeli/Palestinian territories are, one possible solution would be for regional neighbors to contribute some of their territory to both parties as part of a comprehensive peace deal. The most obvious choices are Egypt and Jordan. Egypt can contribute a small percentage of the Sinai- this would allow Gaza to extend into their territory. Jordan could contribute land adjacent Jordan River, which would extend the West Bank territory.
For size comparison, Sinai peninsula is 23,000 square miles. Gaza Strip is 140 sq miles. Imagine if just a few percent of Sinai were contributed to the cause.
Jordan is 34k square miles, and West Bank is 2.2k square miles, so a much smaller ratio. But if Jordan can contribute a chunk of land on the east bank of the river (which is mostly farm/desert land), it could make a considerable difference. Considering the population size in Israel/Palestinian territories, expansion for both parties is almost a necessity.
Itβs important to remember that the current borders for Egypt and Jordan are 20th century inventions. Of course realistically neither country would agree to such a sacrifice. However if are to consider the history of this conflict both countries have been major parties to it and they should certainly feel obligated to help end it. They would also benefit immensely from an end to the conflict, which could spell unprecedented economic growth for the region.
