I'm an American, and am very likely going to be doing a post-college gap year in Israel next year, likely in Jerusalem. I happen to need some new clothes anyway, so might as well adapt it somewhat to clothing norms in Israel. I know Israel tends to be more casual than the US, but what would you consider a "normal" outfit for work (both winter and summer)?
Question I'm thinking about are-
- Is it normal to wear t-shirts to work (assume it's a "normal" office job), or is that too casual? Polos? Button-downs?
- I know jeans are comparatively more expensive in Israel. Are they still seen as casual compared to khahis/chinos, or not?
- Would it be odd to wear khahis/chinos on a regular, uneventful day, e.g. to work, just around, etc.?
I know I'm way overthinking this (especially given how far off it is) and that everyone is different, but some general trends would be nice to know. I'm male, btw.
