For example, if an American jew made aliyah, would you see them as being an “outsider” or would you see them just as a fellow Jew/Israeli. I’ve heard from a couple of Israelis that they see American olim as outsiders but many other Israelis say they see American Olim as fellow Jews/Israelis. (For clarification, I am asking this because I am considering making Aliyah and want to know about the environment concerning olim)
NYC is bigger than Israel in mentality, variety and sanity
American Olim who are not orthodox are rare because American is the promised land not Israel.
If you ain’t born there to a twentieth generation chassid dynasty you’re an outsider
Tribalism in 2023. Looks much like tribalism in 1203. Ugly.
I will never live in Israel (BH) again - why would I live in the midst of a society tearing itself apart where unless I’m a millionaire I can’t even dream of buying property, where I’m not even considered “Jewish” or “Jewish enough” By twenty percent of the population!
I was one of those bright eyed nationalistic Olim who thought it was my spiritual destiny to make alliyah. What a joke on me. I left right as quick as I could and headed back to America. Israel is crazy, violent, hot tempered, easy to anger and prone to irrational fear. Tribalism at its finest and at top dollar.
And when America cuts off your military assistance as Israel is turned into a KKK led state, this will be one of the many insults Israelis will regret.

In fact there’s no place for an egalitarian enlightened individual in Israeli society
