Disclaimer: I am neither 30 y/o nor am I into Pokémon. I think I stopped around Frontier when it was airing on cable tv as a kid. Also read the manga because it’s objectively better than the show
It came to me while thinking of the perfect relatable world to be Isekai’d to. Creating a character who knows all the stats, evolutions, and secrets of Pokémon and its systems. He would choose a bulbasaur because he wants to play on “hard”, reap the “end game” benefits, as well as expertly putting together a winning team based on stats and attributes, and not “trainer theme”.
He would avoid all of the usual tropes and plot pitfalls, opening up a new path and storyline that’s essentially impossible for an ignorant character.
Anyway, just wanted to bring it up while it was on my mind. Please discuss!
