We're already seeing a massive increase in preventable technological accidents combined with increasingly less resilient & over centralized infrastructure.
When you combine Wall-E with 40k literally billions of lives are in jeopardy because the technology they are increasingly addicted to is increasingly fragile with increasingly more people required to maintain it with increasingly deteriorating levels of competence.
And I haven't even talked about how that affects true cutting edge high tech.
