Think about the galactic encyclopedia from Uplift Saga or the STC from 40k.
Just better. How would you make data storage & access last thousands or even millions of years?
My personal idea: engraved & enameled steel plates inside fired clay containers filled with pitch. The container then goes into a box with gravel with dozens more of its kind and stored in, for example, a salt mine.
Using modern radar & sound imagining this storage could be read without opening the jars but a more primitive civilization could also just smash the jars and read the engraving directly.
