I am in the process of researching to design my lawn irrigation system. My house is located in Central FL, so no worries of freezing.
I've tested my water pressure and flow rate at a few different times during the late afternoon/evening and will gather more times while working through everything. Around that time, I have almost 60psi and close to 7gpm. This is a newer venture of mine so I am grateful for any tips, tricks or insight!
Equipment I am looking into using:
- Rain-Bird ESP-TM2 (6 zone) or Rachio 3 (8 zone)
- Orbit WaterMaster Preassembled Manifold with Easy Wire (4 valve)
- NDS 20 inch valve box
- Rain Bird 1804 Adjustable spray heads
- Haven't decided on whether to use PVC pipe for everything or Something like the Blu-Lock tubing.
Below are the following images:
- Rough measurements of my property
- How I think the zones should look, I split it into 4 zones
- The red dot is where my hose head is, but I may end up using the front yard one which would be located at the bottom right corner instead.
- Yellow (Thin bottom row) = Zone 1
- Blue (Left Side) = Zone 2
- Green (Top Middle) = Zone 3
- Purple (Top Right) = Zone 4
- Rough layout of how the sprinklers will go, Thinking about it now though, zone 3 will have to be changed because my septic is located in that area. So the heads will need to be places on the outskirts. But as of this image the plan was.
- Zone 1 - (4) Rain Bird 1804 Spray heads with the Rain Bird side strip nozzles to provide a narrow spray pattern.
- Zone 2 - (7) Rain Bird 1804 Spray heads with 5 of them spraying in a half circle pattern and 2 in a full 360 pattern.
- Zone 3 - (3) Rain Bird 1804 Spray heads with 1 spraying a half circle and 2 in a full 360 pattern. This will have to change since the heads will not be able to be located in the middle of the yard like that.
Zone 4 - (4) Rain Bird 1804 Spray heads with 3 spraying in a half circle pattern and 1 in a full 360 pattern.
