Post Body

So 10 years from know I want to have a welding business (custom parts, sculptures, basic fabrication etc) My goal is to be extremely knowledgeable in welding in its different forms and such Union wise should I go to the boilermakers union or the ironworkers union or is there a better union for me to join

FYI I spent the past year doing structural and heavy machinery repair welding

Because I got to thinking and I thought that my goal of being an ironworker might not be the best because its not always welding it’s a lot more back breaking construction (I’m not afraid of it I just don’t want to do it for the rest of my life)

Which union do you think would give me the most transferable skills? (for me wanting to be a welder)
