Edric Baratheon

The three Baratheon ships arrived at Sunspear on evenfall after the second day of sailing. Mercifully they had received only good weather, and Shipbreaker Bay had failed to live up to its name. The pirates, too, had been inactive. A blessed journey, at any rate.

His lord father had dispatched Edric to serve as an emissary for the Stormlands, to broker if not an alliance then a guarantee of peace with the Dornish. He was the best choice-- Raymont, his younger brother, was too concerned with tourneys and pageantry. Robert, his older brother, was… not a diplomat. Robert was the kind of person you deployed to break alliances, not make them.

Edric worried about the future of the Stormlands. Perhaps marriage and parenthood would soften Robert’s edges.

He disembarked and advanced with a small retinue of guardsmen from the ships, winding their way through the streets to the Sandship. He had business with the Prince of Dorne, he announced, and awaited their response.
