[m] This actually happened like a couple months ago.
As they got closer to King's Landing concerning rumours started to reach Ryon and his men. The smallfolk talked about how the gods had sent a punishment on the realm. The King had lost a leg, or perhaps both, in a joust. Some rumoured that the Gammy Dragon, as they called him in what they thought to be a clever wordplay they had heard from northern merchants, had also fallen to the sealskin plague, a strange illness that was sweeping the land.
Ryon's worry grew the closer he got to the capital, not only for the King, but for Myrdria, Jayde, Leopold and their children. He prayed to the Seven in hopes that they would be left untouched and, by the time the red walls of King's Landing stood in front oh him, he felt the temptation to turn his steed and ride away to avoid facing any sorrow that could be waiting inside.
The army marched towards the Red Keep in an almost funerary procession. Once he was inside the Fortress he was met with news that the King had recovered from the illness, although the serving maids talked in hushed tones about the consequences. He also learnt that Gael, Princess Rhaenys's youngest daughter, had died a few months ago. But Myrdria and Jayde were alright. In another circumstance he would have felt sorry for the child, but in that moment he could only rush to the Tower of the Hand to be with his wife. He would have time for mourning later.
