Lord Anders was happy to spend time in Sunspear. For one, it was much warmer along the coast of the Narrow Sea than high in the Red Mountains. He had relished the chance to see his son Ellion and his grandson Benedict and to meet his new granddaughter Jynessa. All the while the black events that brought him there weighed on his thoughts.

While Demara took care of the two children, he excused himself and his heir.

"Are you alright, my son? I am glad you survived the pirate raids unscathed."

"I am father, the Seven be praised. In truth, the raids were over almost as soon as they began. The force of corsairs caught us all by surprise, and it seems they were only interested in seizing ships."

"It seems odd that a band of Essosi pirates would travel from so far away to seize ships so close to one of the largest ports in Westeros."

"Aye father, I thought the same. They seemed to know exactly were to strike, where the Seven Kingdoms were at their weakest. Perhaps it is shame that compels me to think this was no mere coincidence."

Lord Anders pulled his son in close, "You are not alone in your suspicions. What I speak to you now must not be revealed to anyone, not friend nor kin. High Hermitage was sacked. We are meant to believe that the pirates were responsible."

Ellion rubbed his hands together nervously, "News of this has not reached Sunspear. How bad was the raid?"

"It was sacked boy, this wasn't the warfare of pampered lords but real carnage. There is no lord there now, if that gives you some idea."

Shock came over Ellion's face, "what makes you suspicious?"

"I met with Prince Garrin in Starfall. He insisted we meet alone, he was on edge, he told me to trust none of the people I met with in Starfall and practically ran out of the room."

Shock quickly turned to concern, "who did you meet with father? What did he mean?"

"I have no idea. I met with three from the House Dayne: Lady Clara, Ser Williem Morningstar, and Ser Arthur the Sword of the Morning. I don't know what to make of the prince's actions. We must be cautious, the security of Dorne and the future of the houses Martell and Blackmont may hang in the balance. Pray that this time of crisis has only made us all look for shadows in the night to chase, the alternative is....not something I want to contemplate. If there is to be a council of Dorne, you will stand at my right hand. There is more going on here than any of us knows. For our sakes, I hope we find get to the bottom of it or this is far from over."

Finally, he made his way toward the princess's chambers to have an audience with her.

"Please inform Princess Arianne that Lord Anders Blackmont, Justicar of Dorne, desires an audience urgently."
