From what I can tell, the people on this sub are generally opposed to the sectarian nature of iraq's politics and want a more unified iraqi polity. But sectarian interests in iraq are clearly strong, otherwise the country would be more united. So my questions are:
What demographic do the people on this sub (who live in iraq) represent? Is it made up of mostly of the urban middle class (to the extent a middle class exists in iraq)? or is it urban dwellers more generally?
What segments of iraqi population are supportive of the sectarian politics? Is it mostly the rural people? Are some of the sects (sunni, shia, kurdish, turkmen, etc.) more sectarian, in general, than others?
I see a lot of criticism of sadr and those who ally with him (like the communists) on this sub, which makes sense considering the anti-sectarian sentiments I mentioned earlier. Is there a political force/movement in iraq that people here do support? Is this force represented in parliament?
If such a (more or less organized) faction does not exist yet, is there a source of hope for the people in this sub, in terms of a nascent political party which is perhaps in its larval stages which could feasibly grow and help unify the country? Who are the individual representing such a tendency? According to wikipedia, one of the causes of the 2019-20 protests was a "Rise in iraqi nationalism". Does any group represent this rise?
