5.5th gen boot loop when battery drained

Hi,

I purchased a 5.5th gen and have been playing with the last few days. I noticed that when I completely drained the battery that when I went to plug it back it it was bootlooping. The apple logo would appear and the harddrive would whirr then the screen and harddrive whirring would be killed and the process starts again.

Above are pictures of my iPods battery diagnostics (after being charged fully). I loaded some lossless songs on the iPod and it lasted ~2.5 hours before draining from a full battery.

Is this a battery issue or something else?

Any help is much appreciated.
