need help, just got my ipod classic but cant seem to get it working with itunes.

I reformatted the hard drive because the old seller said he formatted it for mac, I reformatted it and restored it on itunes but its still not showing me the "welcome to your new ipod" screen.
Please help I wanna listen to my music.
edit : I found a fix I had to download a older windows version, the microsoft store version sucks ass and doesn't work.
