Car would not start - Limited AWD

Car was charging in my garage with a level 1 charger. I unlocked the car with the Keyes, then unplugged the charger.

Went to get in the car and noticed the seat did not auto adjust. Tried to start the car and could only out it in neutral- and realized the little key icon on the dash. It seemed to think I didn't have the keys on me. Tried turning the car on and off, but same problem.

Finally manually pressed the lock. Button inside the car, and everything worked just fine.

Did I do something wring?? I have had the car for a month now and am still getting used to it.
