Is it true that you can’t transfer your Invisalign treatment overseas?

Hey everyone

I moved from NZ to Spain just before the pandemic, and was about halfway through my treatment (44 trays).

Because of the horrible situation during covid, only able to leave the house once a day, catching covid and being very ill, all of which worsened my depression, I abandoned my treatment. It was just too much with everything else going on.

I’m now looking to restart it. I understand I will have likely lost all my progress and will have to start from square one. I still have half of my trays but lost all my prior ones due to the move.

I emailed my last dentist and he sent me a patient transfer form. I then met with a reputed orthodontist here and everything seemed to be moving forward. However, they just contacted me and said Invisalign told them that it is impossible to move my treatment because I am in a different country.

Has anyone been in this situation and can confirm/deny? If I have to pay for a whole new treatment I will but my last dentist seemed to think I could transfer without issue.
